This project, "Hidden Health Hazards: A Collaborative Approach to the Problem of Toxins in Museums and Community Collections," involved beta testing a comprehensive survey tool created by the American Institute for Conservation. Working with another student and two local historic house museums, I contributed to the evaluation and improvement of this health and safety survey.
Key contributions included:
Testing the tool to assess hazard categories such as chemical, structural, and fire-related risks.
Providing feedback on the survey’s design and adaptability for diverse institutions.
Collaborating with site staff to identify and document potential threats.
Supporting advocacy for health awareness and strategic risk mitigation.
This project emphasized the vital role of health and safety in collections care and institutional planning.
